Favorite Heatless Hairstyles

Hey guys! Today I'm showing you my 2 favorite heatless hairstyles. You might already know how to do these so I'm very sorry if you do. However If you don't, then I am very excited to show you how. (that was a long, awkward, sentence.. but it got the point across). These are super easy and once you've figured them out it takes 5 minutes at the most. I love doing this because I don't need to use any heat and they keep my hair out of my face (for the most part) for the entire day.

  Twisted Fishtail
Step 1: Gather all of your hair to one side to create a low side pony. (use a hair tie that can be cut later.. like a plastic one)

Step 2: Above the elastic, pull apart the hair and make a hole in the center.

Step 3: Now take your ponytail, and loop it through the hole. Pull all the way and tighten to your liking.

Step 4: You will now be left with a cool-twisty ponytail. (This alone could be a cute hairstyle..)

Step 5: Separate pony into 2 parts. Take a small section from side.
Step 6: Cross the small section of hair to the other side of your 2 sections.
Step 7: Repeat the process on both sides, alternating each time.

Step 8: Cut the elastic. Loosen and mess up the fishtail until you like it!

Cross Braided-Headband
Step 1: Put your hair into 2 pigtails

 Step 2: Braid both sides

Step 3: Bring the first braid across your head and secure with a bobby pin

Step 4: Bring the other braid across so they are next to eachother on the top of your head.

So those are two current hair styles I love! Hope you learned something....... :)

FOTD: Elsa inspired hair and makeup!

Today's makeup and hair is inspired by Elsa from the movie frozen, if you haven't seen it... You need to. But I LOVE Elsa's hair and makeup in the movie so I decided to recreate it:) for my eye makeup I just used a light purple on my lid, a dark purple on my crease, silver on the inner part of my lid,and dark grey eye shadow on my lash line. And the hair I actually took from meghan rosettes video "Elsa inspired hair tutorial" Be sure to check that out, it's super easy and she explains it way better than I ever could. And again.. If you haven't seen frozen.. What are you doing.

So ready for spring

Even though it is now April and spring has officially sprung, here in Colorado it still feels like February. I have been ready for warm weather since New Years, and the fact that it's 4 months later and still snowing makes me crazy. However I will not let this upsetting weather get in the way of my cute spring wardrobe... I just might be spending a lot of time inside until it's above 35 degrees. My outfit today screams spring, unfortunately I will be freezing If I step outside. But I'm in love with it either way! I love spring fashion because you can still wear jeans and jackets without being unbearably hot, but some days are nice enough to wear skirts and dresses without tights (even though I've been doing that since January #daredevil). I also love to see people wearing actual color. In the winter my clothing turns to gray, black, gray, and more black. There's just something about spring that makes me so so happy!
Where it's all from:
Dress: Old Navy
Jacket: Brandy Melville
Scarf: H&M
Shoes: Target
Tote bag: Primark

Hope everyone is getting some sunshine and warmth!

Airport outfit

Today I flew home from San Francisco ):
We had a super early flight so I'm surprised I managed to put on a real outfit and didn't just stumble out of the house in my sweatpants. I can't even believe how terrible I've been at blogging this month however and it's pretty sad. Like how is it already April?(basically). This month went by way too fast.

What I'm wearing:
Shirt- Brandy Melville
Jeans- Charlotte Russe
Jacket- Brandy Melville
Boots- Forever 21

(Please excuse my terrible mirror choice also, I couldn't find a full length mirror so the Starbucks bathroom had to do)

San Francisco!

I'm FINALLY in SF and I am so excited. Yesterday was exhausting and stressful so I'm extremely happy to be here. And the weather is beautiful, thank god I don't have to put up with snow this week!!

Oops...

Wow, I have officially gone 5 days without a post. (That's terrible, I know). This last week before spring break has not been kind to me, and I just haven't had the energy or time to make a quality post. Fortunately, I am leaving for San Francisco tomorrow and I will have plenty to blog about while I'm there. So there are some quality posts coming that I'm super excited about! Very sorry again! Homemade green juice

I love green smoothies and juices, but most of them are crazy expensive. I made my own and I think it tastes just like pressed juices that could cost 6 or 7 dollars. Unfortunately, I don't have a juicer yet so I had to make it the hard way (blend vegetables with about a cup of water, then pour through fine strainer to get the juice out) but it still works. If you have a juicer then that's even better.
I first used about 1/4 cup of orange juice, but that's optional.

Then I added my veggies:
-about 1/3 of a peeled cucumber
-1 1/2 cups spinach
-1 1/2 celery stalks
-3/4 to 1 cup of kale
-about 1 cup cold water

It's super healthy, doesn't really taste the best but definitely not too bad! Xoxo, Kyla

My Carry On Essentials!

With spring break just around the corner (or already here for some of us), I though I would show you my carry on essentials! Since I am going on a trip soon, I thought this was the perfect time to make this post. These are all items that I take with me when I fly, but these are all essential for long train or car rides as well:)

1. Big Cozy Scarf
This is sooo important for me to have while travelling. It can get really cold on flights, and a cozy knit scarf can be a life saver. They are insanely comfy and cute, this one is from Victoria's Secret.

2. Magazine or Book
The worst thing ever is sitting on a plane/train and being bored out of your mind. Especially on flights without wifi, having something to read can seriously pass the time. I like magazines because they keep my attention for a long time, and I can bring 2 or 3 and be occupied for basically the whole flight (obviously that depends on how long the flight is). I like to buy them before I like to buy them before I go to the airport so I don't end up spending 30$ on reading material. Bonus- the cute outfit ideas you get while reading :)

3. Headphones
This is kind of a no brainer, but I can't go anywhere without headphones. Even if you don't want to listen to music, you can block out all the noise and relaaaax. This is just the pair that came with my phone.

4. Snacks
I think its super important to bring a snack on the plane. I usually just bring a granola bar and water because it's super easy, but you could also bring nuts, an apple or banana, or anything that's pretty easy to pack away. Here I have a Kashi Cherry Dark Chocolate Chewy Bar.

5. Hair ties and bobby pins
Whenever I'm travelling I love to just get my hair out of my face so I don't have to worry about it. I just bring a few hair ties and bobby pins so I can throw my hair into a ponytail, messy bun, or braids.

6. Hand Sanitizer
I know they clean the plane after every flight, but I can't help that I'm a little bit of a germaphobe. After I use the bathroom or eat I can just use some of this and kill germs while smelling nice. This one is in the scent Pink Chiffon and it's from Bath and Body Works.

7. Chapstick and Lipgloss
The dry airplane air can do serious damage to your lips, I always bring chapstick or lip balm. This one is my Original Baby Lips. I also like to bring lipgloss to put on when I get off the plane (is that weird? I just like it). Here I have the Peppermint Menthol lipgloss from Bath and Body Works, it is sheer pink and makes your breath smell amazing.

8. Pens and Paper
I love having pens/pencils and a little pad of paper. Just in case I get any ideas that I want to write down, or if I'm just super bored and want to doodle. And my notebook has One Direction on the cover so it can't really get any better!

9. Travel size perfume
I like to have something that I can put on if I'm feeling icky on the flight or if I want to put it on right before I get off the plane so I smell somewhat decent. Obviously having it in a little bottle is key so the security doesn't take it away, and so it doesn't take up a lot of space. This is my travel size Someday perfume by Justin Bieber. Its not my favorite scent but it gets the job done.

So those are all of my travel/carry on essentials, Xoxo, Kyla

***Also! I really want to start a youtube channel, I know I don't have a lot of followers on here but if anyone thinks that would be cool please let me know!! I think it would be super fun and I have so many people that I watch on there. The whole youtube community just seems so great and nice!
